Diana was already a well established member of the Stables Flat staff team when I first came to SFHT as the CEO in 2006. She was an extremely kind and caring person, loved very much by the people who lived in Stables Flat. Nothing was too much trouble for Diana in supporting the residents of the Flat. She was also supportive of other staff members and her leadership qualities were quickly recognised. She had no airs and graces - WYSIWYG - that sums Diana up. She became a Senior Support Worker, Team Leader and Manager, but she never changed - she was never different because of her seniority. I always had fondness and the utmost respect for Diana - everything she did was performed with commitment, passion and professionalism. If ever there was a social event, Diana was up for it; first on the dance floor and last to leave. She imbued everyone with her enthusiasm and even the most shy person could not refuse her invitation to dance. It is therefore, still unbelievable to me that this amazing, vibrant and passionate lady has checked out before the end of the party. I am so glad that she met her soulmate and the love of her life, Kim. I saw the difference he made in her life - he literally lit her up. I remember many conversations with her before and after Kim, and I know that she found in him a happiness that she had never thought possible. He was her world. It is tragic that they had such a short time together, but I think they packed more into ten years than most couples manage in a long martied lifetime.
I would say, Rest In Peace, Diana, but I suspect you are not resting at all and you have everyone up there dancing with you! Much love to an amazing lady, Jan xx
